Home. It’s hard to pinpoint where exactly home is these days.
I’ve spent the last 6 months traveling between the States, England, and Chile. During that time abroad, my family moved yet again. Since being home, I have found myself in a new house, new location, new neighborhood, new church, new everything. This is how my life has been for most of my 18 years. Especially in the past five. As most of you know, I love to write. Hence the reason this blog exists. I’ve always been a pretty decent writer, but over the past year I have come to truly appreciate it and work hard at honing my skills. Over time this love for writing has grown into a passion and dream of mine. I want to make an impact with the power that words hold. That is a new aspiration of mine. What if this isn’t where you want me Lord?
This question continued to run through my mind a few months ago as I was praying about what to do this Fall since graduating high school a month ago. I could go ahead and start college or I could take a year off. If I started college, I had narrowed it down to two options. Right now I am tucked away in a secluded corner of our small-town Starbucks, sipping coffee, and typing away as rain pours down outside. It’s just me and my thoughts, surrounded by the smell of brewing coffee and sound of pattering rain.
Monday evenings here are a ghost town. Presently the population of this small coffee shop consists of me, a business man typing away, a college student bearing a puzzled expression that screams “math,” and three, green-apron-clad baristas behind the counter. Continue reading “cafe wonderings.”
